Editor
I work as a production editor at Nelson Books, a nonfiction trade imprint of Thomas Nelson Publishers. Since 2012 I’ve worked with traditional Christian publishers as a proofreader, editor, and copywriter. After a stint as a freelance editor and instructor at UC Berkeley’s editing course sequence, I began working at Nelson Books. I love my work, am blessed to work with an amazing group of people, and enjoy the authors and their books I have the privilege to bring to the printer.
Writing
My writing contributions include creating catalog and back cover copy, marketing material, reflection questions, and journaling prompts.
Editing
My experience with editing-specific tasks includes substantive editing, line/copyediting, proofreading, subject-matter reviews, theological reviews, and sensitivity reads.
Cites and Research
I love notes! Some of my tasks include researching reliable sources for cited facts, looking up publishing information for quotes and references, and creating/formatting notes and bibliographies.
Book Production
I take a book project from the time it’s ready for copyediting, through interior design and proofreading, facilitate approval and proofing of the cover, and finalize the interior to send to the printer.
